Is the M60 good in War Thunder? ›

They are pretty good tanks for 8.7. I enjoyed playing them a lot once I got the engine upgrades. Also with Israel I got pretty much only 8.7 and 9.0 matches recently.

Description. The Type 5 is currently the most powerful gun mounted on an IJA tank in War Thunder. It draws parallels to the famed German 88 mm KwK43, sporting similar muzzle velocity and penetration, but with significantly increased explosive filler and improved angled armour penetration.

The only weak spot being the lower sides of the hull and turret sides and rear, the only way to reliably penetrate it is to get a shot from the side.

The M60 provided better firepower, armor protection, and cruising range. It also had a coincidental range finder and an integrated fire control system, making its firepower quicker and more accurate. The M60 incorporated the British-designed 105mm gun as its main gun and was able to destroy any known enemy tank.

The M60 can be accurately fired at short ranges from the shoulder thanks to its design. This was an initial requirement for the design and a hold-over in concept from the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle. It may also be fired from the integral bipod, M122 tripod, and some other mounts.

The ability to tow is default key bound to the "0" on the keyboard in the controls under "Miscellaneous: towing rope". Once bound, this key will enable the ability to tow on the vehicle in-game.

Honestly, it was a constant love-hate relationship with the M60. Grunts hated carrying it because it was much heavier than the standard M16. But on the other hand, EVERYBODY gladly carried 100 rounds of M60 ammo, because everybody loved the brutal amount of rounds it could put down-range.
